Kelly has wanted to work in the field of veterinary medicine ever since she was a little girl. When her childhood dog contracted a rare autoimmune disease, her fate was sealed: Kelly knew that she wanted to help others’ pets stay happy and healthy in whatever way she could. Her dream simply never wavered. Now, she’s a proud member of the Hambright Animal Hospital family!
Kelly is a Charlotte native and got her foot in the door of the pet care world by dog- and cat-sitting for neighbors. Kelly attended East Carolina University in Greenville NC to study Molecular Biology, where she was apart of the ECU Women’s club soccer team and the veterinary club. She graduated in May of 2021 and has spent her summers working at Hambright to prepare for Veterinary school.
When at the Hospital Kelly loves to hear the unique stories the area’s pet owners have about their animal companions, and bonding with her patients is Kelly’s favorite part of her work. She has also grown a passion for surgery and is looking to peruse a surgical route in the medical field.
While in college Kelly rescued a 6 year old beagle named Jordi. Jordi was rescued with several health problems but with the help of Hambright he is now a very healthy and happy dog.
