Dr. Myra Southwell


Dr. Southwell is from Currituck County, which is nestled at the northern-most portion of North Carolina’s beautiful outer banks. She inherited a deep love of animals from her family. Dr. Southwell graduated from the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics in 2005, before going on to study biochemistry at North Carolina State University where she was valedictorian in 2009. Throughout her undergraduate career, she worked in an immunogenetics research laboratory as an assistant. She then realized her life-long dream to help animals when she graduated from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine

Dr. Southwell’s major interests include surgery, dentistry, and feline medicine. She is currently working towards becoming certified in veterinary acupuncture.

Dr. Southwell is married to her high school crush, John Southwell, an engineer. They have two precious kitties, Sarabell and Bubbles, and a dog named Bell. When away from the office, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family, and reading about history. She looks forward to meeting you and your fur babies soon!
